ChainProof does not store or receive the contents of your documents. Only a cryptographic hash (an irreversible one-way digest) of each document is transmitted to and processed by the Service. It is not technically feasible to reconstruct the original document from a hash. You retain full and sole ownership of and responsibility for your documents and their contents.
We use the collected information to:
Document hashes and associated transaction data are recorded on public blockchain networks. Consequently, such data becomes publicly immutably available and cannot be deleted or modified. By anchoring a document, you acknowledge and consent that its hash and related transaction metadata will be permanently and publicly recorded on the blockchain. ChainProof has no ability to remove or alter data once it is committed to the blockchain.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with third-party service providers (such as cloud hosting, database, and blockchain infrastructure providers) solely to the extent necessary to operate the Service. Such third parties are contractually bound to protect the information and may be located in different jurisdictions.
We retain account information and usage data for as long as your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service. Data recorded on public blockchains is permanent and cannot be deleted by us. Upon account termination, we may delete or anonymize personal data in accordance with applicable law, except for data that must be retained to comply with legal obligations or that is permanently recorded on a blockchain.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including breaches arising from third-party networks or infrastructure outside our control.
